IS this for real?

If you visit AOL's TotalTalk site, you are told that AOL has decided to discontinue thier service as of November 30, 2006. But their other pages like sign-up page seem to be working normally. Since I have not heard of this news item previously, I can only surmise that their page has been hijacked.

PS: I omitted to mention the source because I couldn't locate it at that time and I was in a hurry to post it and improve my Smith rating. :-) Any way, I saw it in Alec's list of digged links, but he didn't comment on it.

It's not getting discontinued, per se - just being replaced with a better product.

Don't send people into some big tizzy that AOL's getting rid of stuff, implying that it was poorly received. Get your info right first.

I am not making any one tizzy. I think I am making it clear that the page has been hacked.

But now it looks like they are discontinued in one fashion or another. If they are indeed replacing it with a better product, don't you think they will say that and redirect their customer to the new product?
